Having spent the better part of the evening debating with my good friend Anders A Fitje on the topic of Facebook, I decided to round off the evening posting a small observation on my web page blog.
I conducted two searches on the internet, one for ‘i love facebook’ and another for ‘i hate facebook’. Below you’ll find the results.
- Results 1 – 10 of about 543 for “i love facebook”
- Results 1 – 10 of about 8,470 for “i hate facebook”
Look again pal!
Omlag 1 390 000 som inneheldt I hate facebook.
Omlag 1 930 000 som inneheldt I Love facebook.
I beg to differ, your results come from the way you searched…
If you search for: I hate facebook
– Google will return all documents containing the three words.
If you search for: ‘I hate facebook’
– Google will return all documents with that exact phrase.
The latter search produced the above numbers on Google, Saturday 5th of May 2007. However, as you are well aware of, negative attitudes will always be more strongly expressed than positive ones. Why bother to write about something if it works and does what you want it to do? Facebook, on the whole, is good in that it triggers debate.
